Founders
Dr Pamela Topping
Dr Pamela Topping began her career as a nurse changing direction to become a Consultant specialising in Dementia Design. Pamela completed a B.Des (Hons) Degree in 3D Design, MA MDDD, PhD and is Associate Fellow of The Higher Education Academy. Pamela cultivates dual expertise as a design consultant and healthcare professional with a particular focus on design for dementia.
Pamela works closely with teams of designers in the Netherlands, US and Australia. Pamela is also a non-executive director on Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council overseeing several business development programs which have taken her to Finland, Latvia, and the US. Pamela sits on the Board of Governors of Malvern St Primary School, located in West Belfast.
Lloyd Crawford
Lloyd co-founded Chroma Lighting, an award winning lighting company with twenty five years experience of professional lighting design for the built environment, and a particular focus on healthcare. His lighting designs feature in every hospital in Northern Ireland.
Collaborating with architects, designers and engineers to develop innovating lighting solutions for a wide range of healthcare environments, recent projects include a suite of luminaires and anti-ligature protective measures for Belfast City Hospital’s Acute Mental Health Inpatient Centre as well as circadian lighting systems for Bluestone Psychiatric Unit at Craigavon Hospital.
Lloyd has created several bespoke luminaires and has built an excellent network of lighting manufacturers throughout Europe. Lloyd is a Fellow of the Society of Light and Lighting.
